So some of you may know that I hold a grudge against the small town bureaucracy in Duncan. My Mother was hired to work for the dbia (downtown business improvement association). She was hired because she had previous restoration and heritage experience, as well as event planning, and town planning skills. She was fired because she refused to act as secretary. Later she was one of the founding board members of the Green door project. The Green door project wanted to re-do a heritage property on the edge of town. The town council wanted it to become a parking lot. The society had to fight tooth and nail to get any kind of respect, in fact at one point a member of the town council called David Coulson a flim-flam man. This is a member of the community who has won several awards and is widely respected. In fact the green door came about largely by the persistence of volunteers in spite of the town hall. So imagine my surprise when I surfed the Duncan page and found not only an artistic representation of the re-done building but a photograph of it again down at the bottom of the page. fuckers!
