Whenever I am faced with a major decision I sit down and try to make a list of pros and cons. With Allan that becomes difficult because some pros weigh heavier than cons (eg he loves me vs he never does the dishes. Does anyone have any suggestions? I wanted to sit down and make a list of my dreams here so that I could think about the ramifications of staying with Allan and how that would impact my future. *Obviously some of these will remain dreams at the expense of doing other things.

1. I want to live on the East Coast for a couple of years. I really want to teach in Newfoundland, and I want to explore Toronto and Nova Scotia.

2. I want to adopt a Solomon Island baby.

3. I want to go to Africa on a photo safari.

4. I want to live in Europe for a year or two.

5. I want to teach in the Solomons for a year or two.

6. I want to own or breed Irish Wolfhounds, and or Australian Cattle dogs*.

7. I want to teach ESL in Asia for a year, at least.

8. I want to travel through South America and teach ESL

9. I want to go back to school after or before my education degree and finish my theatre bfa.

10. I want to take some courses in photography.

11. I want to get certified as an aerobics dance instructor.

12. I would love to co-own a funky kids/sci fi book shop with a little coffee bar.

13. I want to travel to Bali with some of my girlfriends and howl at the moon.

14. I want to travel across Canada.

I think the biggest issue here is that I do not want to settle down anywhere. I don't really care about owning a house either. Thats not to say I won't save money, its just that I don't really see the point in owning a home I will never really live in. Valerie has almost lost her homes several times because of shitty renters. I don't see why I would choose to put myself through that when I could just put money in a savings account or some kind of rrsp thingy. Anyway just for comparison here are Al's goals. (He did agree that he would be willing to adopt a solo child, and he is willing to go on vacations. However I am not keen on beng a tourist in some of the places I have listed. Besides why not go somewhere for a year live there, make money, and experience the culture? I don't mind being a tourist in Bali or Africa, but thats about it.)

1. Own house

2. Buy a truck

3. Get pharmacy technician certificate or tour guide certificate

4. Have kids
